Sitio Maupot, Magpet

Sitio Maupot is a Bali Inspired Resort situated in Brgy. Pangaoan, Magpet, North Cotabato which features a sky cafe and bar, the scenic and overlooking view, picturesque and instagrammable escapade. This resort is not only for those who seek peaceful settings, but they also provide activities such as ATV and UTV rides for those who feel their stay boring. And I loved the idea where the resort nestled right on the cliff facing the beautiful and majestic view of Mt. Apo.

The resort is a perfect place for quick escape and relaxation, best for any occasion and a must travel destination for those who wanted to be back with nature. This place is the newest and one of the best spots in the province of North Cotabato, some called it the “romantic getaway” because of the atmosphere and the cool breeze, clean and refreshing perfect for couples and lovers. Surely a great place for rest and relaxation for those who wanted away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

How to get there:

  1. From Manila, there are daily flights to Davao City, which is the nearest entry point to Magpet, North Cotabato.
  2. From the airport, you can ride a taxi if your not familiar with the city or either bus right in front of the airport (Davao signed bus) straight to downtown, they most probably heading to the bus terminal station.
  3. At the bus terminal, you can take “Kidapawan or Cotabato” signed buses and make sure your stop would be in Kidapawan City. From Davao, it took almost 3 hrs to reach Kidapawan and the fare is around 160php per head basis. Same if you ride via van.
  4. In Kidapawan, motorcycle “habal-habal” is the most convenient way to reach Sitio Maupot in Magpet. The usual fare is 50php (according to locals) maybe you can ask where the terminal is or better negotiate any “habal-habal” in the area and your fare will depend on your haggling abilities. Travel time will be approximately 20-30mins to reach the village.
  5. And or, make a reservation to Sitio Maupot because if you do, they have a shuttle bus to get and pick you up in the city proper and vise Versa. A shuttle bus also applicable for day tour guest but you have to pay 100php for the trip and for the details visit their page –
  6. For those who bring their own vehicle then that would be more convenient like what we do, just follow the “Magpet” road signed right when you reach the Roundball in Kidapawan and the rest there will be signage along the way for you to reach the said village.

Note: always ask the locals.

Travel Notes:

  1. Search the area first before going there. (safety and security first, availability of transportation, accommodation, foods and etc.)
  2. Create your itinerary for the sequence of your travel. (where first, stop for your meal, activities in the area, the time you’ll be spending in that area, the most important is where to stay and etc.)
  3. Budget or Money. (the cost or expenses of your travel.)
  4. What to bring. (camera, phone, power bank, charger, necessities or travel kit, your medicine, tent if you are camping in the beach/island, and more important to bring.)
  5. If you travel in a group better to seek a rented van or what depends on you so that you can go with your itinerary directly and less budget of course.
  6. If you’re a solo traveler, you own your time so better to have a map or guidelines and extra money of course.

(Solo or Group has its own advantages and disadvantages when it comes to travel.)

  1. Take note of the travel time and how long you will be staying in that particular area.
  2. You have to consider the events (summer, the influx of tourists and the most important is the weather).
  3. Also, preparation (when, where and what to do) so that everything will be okay.
  4. Lastly, be a responsible tourist and a traveler.
